Lakmé Peach Milk Icy Sorbet Gel

Creating Premium Shelf Impact with Embellished PETG Shrink Sleeves

Lakmé Peach Milk Icy Sorbet Gel

About the Brand

Lakmé is one of India’s most recognized beauty and personal care brands. Lakmé Peach Milk Icy Sorbet Gel was positioned with a fresh, indulgent and premium personality, making packaging an important part of how the product communicated its proposition at the point of purchase.

For this launch, the packaging needed to go beyond conventional decoration. The objective was to create a distinctive shelf presence while retaining the clarity, familiarity and visual integrity of the Lakmé brand artwork.

The Brand Objective

Lakmé wanted the pack to feel fresh, premium and visually differentiated. Together, the Lakmé design team and Taurus Packaging development team explored multiple possibilities in shrink-sleeve embellishment to identify an execution capable of delivering stronger shelf impact.

Following a series of development trials, a holographic effect on a silver foil base was finalized. The combination created a dynamic visual finish designed to catch light, add depth to the artwork and distinguish the product from conventional skincare packaging.

The challenge, however, was not simply to create the effect. It was to ensure that the metallic and holographic elements worked in harmony with the artwork, colours and final sleeve geometry after shrinking.

Challenge & Effective Development:

Producing a high-quality holographic effect on a silver foil PETG shrink sleeve required precise control across printing, converting and application. The reflective substrate influenced colour appearance, while temperature conditions, anilox selection and post-printing parameters could directly affect the consistency of the final embellishment.

Another critical consideration was shrink behaviour. The artwork, colour reproduction, silver foil and holographic elements all needed to remain visually balanced after the sleeve conformed to the container. Distortion or variation during shrinking could compromise alignment and the premium appearance of the finished pack.

To establish the optimum production conditions, Taurus Packaging conducted approximately four to five development trials. Each iteration was used to fine-tune key parameters including temperature conditions, anilox specifications, printing settings, post-printing controls and shrink performance.

Through this structured trial-and-refinement process, the Taurus technical team identified the right combination of conditions to achieve the intended visual effect while maintaining sleeve functionality, artwork clarity and final pack consistency.

The Taurus Solution

The final execution was developed on Taurus Packaging’s PETG shrink-sleeve solution. The selected structure provided the shrink performance required for the pack while supporting the specialty silver foil and holographic embellishment.

Taurus carefully balanced the silver foil appearance, holographic effect, colour reproduction, artwork clarity, shrink behaviour and final sleeve fit. The objective throughout development was to ensure that the specialty effects enhanced the design rather than overpowering it.

The result was a technically controlled shrink sleeve in which the embellishments translated effectively from artwork to the finished pack, creating a premium visual character while retaining the integrity of the Lakmé identity.

Result

The final Lakmé Peach Milk Icy Sorbet Gel PETG shrink sleeve successfully delivered the desired premium and distinctive appearance. The silver foil base combined with the holographic effect created an eye-catching finish and stronger shelf presence, while the brand artwork remained clear and visually consistent.

The successful commercialization of the sleeve demonstrated Taurus Packaging’s capability to manage technically demanding specialty shrink-sleeve applications—from substrate selection and print development to multiple trials, process optimization and final shrink execution.

More importantly, the project showed how close collaboration between HUL/Lakmé and Taurus Packaging could transform an ambitious creative concept into a practical, shelf-ready packaging solution.

Specialty Printing Meets Packaging Innovation

For Taurus Packaging, the Lakmé Peach Milk Icy Sorbet Gel project is a strong example of how embellishment, technical development and shrink-sleeve expertise can come together to create meaningful product differentiation.

By combining metallic aesthetics, holographic impact and precise PETG shrink-sleeve execution, Taurus helped translate the brand’s premium vision into a finished pack designed to stand out at the point of purchase.

Why PETG?

PETG also offered an important material advantage for this application. It is a non-chlorinated shrink film and does not contain the chlorine associated with PVC. This makes PETG a preferred alternative where brands are looking for high shrink performance, strong printability and a cleaner material choice for premium shrink-sleeve applications.

For Lakmé Peach Milk Icy Sorbet Gel, PETG enabled Taurus Packaging to combine high shrink capability, excellent visual clarity and premium embellishment performance while supporting the distinctive silver foil and holographic finish required for the pack.
